OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!

Our God is an Awesome God!

One of my favorite Scripture verses is Romans 1:20 which states, "Since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, His eternal power, and His divine nature have been clearly seen through that which has been made so that men are without excuse." One need not search high and low to see God in His creation. In fact, if you simply walk to the mirror one of the most amazing evidences of a loving God will stare you right in the face. I listened to a tape by Tom Hignell once, who shared many examples of why evolution was a lie. While man goes on boasting about what he has and does, Tom decided it better to boast of what God has and does. Did you know that the body has over 75 trillion cells. When God forms the body in the womb He makes two sets of 23 chromosomes come together with all the DNA information to make a human being. There are only about 1 million seconds in eleven days and a trillion seconds in 32,000 years but the body has over 15 trillion cell divisions with each one having meaning and purpose. How could something like this evolve? During embryonic development another fascinating divine evidence of God is seen. A heart is split with a right side and a left side with the right side of the heart taking blood from the body and sending it to the lungs to get oxygen. The blood then returns to the left side of the heart and sends it out to feed the body until it returns to repeat the process. A baby, however, doesn't use its lungs to breath while in the womb so God has designed a hole in the top chamber of the heart that has a flap so that blood from the mother bypasses the lungs and goes directly to the body. When the baby travels through the birth canal and breathes the first breath the pressure in the lung changes and the flap goes over the hole. That flap heals and seals in a matter of a couple of days leaving the blood now going to the lungs of the baby. There is an estimated one oct-tillion (1 and 27 zeros) of atoms in the average human body. Tom put that in perspective by showing that if you covered the earth with peas 4 feet deep and then do that to 250,000 other planets you would reach one oct-tillion. The average human body has 10 gallons of water, enough carbon to make 9,000 pencils, enough phosphorous to make 2,200 matches, enough iron to make a medium nail, enough potassium to shoot off a small cannon, enough lime to white wash a chicken coup and enough sulfur to rid one dog of fleas. The body is also so symmetrical that twice the distance around your wrist is the distance around your neck. The distance around your neck is the distance around your waist, the length of your foot is about the same as your face. The distance from finger tip to finger tip with your arms outstretched is the same as your height. But of course this is all an accident if you believe in evolution. The average person will blink 330 million times in a lifetime, make 25 million finger clenches, 2.5 billion heartbeats, pump 350 million quarts of blood, make 740 million breaths, laugh 540,000 times and cry 3,000 times. The average male has 400 billion sperm at conception that travel an equivalent of 5 miles and you're one of them. The kidney filters 40 gallons of blood a day. You will grow 60 feet of fingernails, 350 miles of hair and have 45 miles of nerves that send impulses at over 325 mph. There are 8 million red blood cells produced every second. You have about 6 lbs. of skin that would cover 20 sq. ft. You will make 1 billion steps covering about 77,000 miles with each step landing on the bones of your feet with a force three times your body weight. You will breath in about 78 million gallons of air which is enough to fill the Hindenburg one and a half times. You have 20 feet of small intestine which covers about 100 sq. ft. of surface area and 6 feet of large intestine which is five times the area of the bodies skin. The villa in the small intestine increase the surface area 600 times so that without it, the small intestine would need to be 2 miles long instead of its 20 feet. Your intestines will squeeze out over 4 tons of food in 70 years. The human brain weighs about three 1bs and produces enough energy for a 20 watt light bulb. It holds enough information for 500,000 sets of encyclopedias which, if stacked, would be 442 miles high. You will have about 2,100 gallons of blood pumped over 62,000 miles of blood vessels each day. You have about 125,000 hairs in your scalp with a loss of about 45 per day (Inverse for me). Each follicle will grow about 30 feet in a lifetime. When you sneeze you can not keep your eyes open and the air will travel out your mouth at about 100 mph. Blood can reach any part of your body in six seconds. Your fingertips are so sensitive that four- one hundred thousandths of an inch depression can be felt. Your eyes can see a small candle lit 30 miles away on a crisp evening. You can taste 4/100 gram of salt in 530 quarts of water. The eye can see 300,000 color variations and the ear can hear three- one hundred thousandths of a second difference from one ear to the other. Every person has a unique and special voice print, finger print, iris print and body odor yet of course, evolution caused all of this instead of a Creator who makes everyone special. Other amazing facts outside human kind testify to God's creation and not evolution. A cheetah can go from 0 to 65 mph in 3 ½ seconds while a corvette will take 5 ½ seconds. Isn't it interesting man made things are not as well done as God's creation? A large elm tree will grow 6 million leaves and pump water 150 feet an hour. In one summer day it will use 1 ton of water. Salmon can return to spawn in the same place each year by recognizing impurities in the water. Bees dance to tell the rest of the hive where nectar is. It only took humans 7 years to figure out the dance, how did evolution program this in? Birds and dolphins never run into each other. The bombardier beetle shoots out a gas at over 212 degrees Fahrenheit. There are over 100 billion galaxies with each one having 1 trillion stars. Astronomers say holding one grain of rice up against the sky covers 1500 galaxies. Our Milky Way galaxy is said to be 500,000 light years across and yet God is concerned about each human on this tiny planet. So what is the point of all these facts? Though amazing, these don't even scratch the surface of the intricacy of God's creation and the human mind and spirit. Tom went on the explain that even more amazing than God's great power was His ability to restrain His power. When Peter cut off the ear of the high priest's servant Jesus said, "Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and He will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?" (Mat 26:53-54). Philip showed us that Jesus, "was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the sheerer is silent, so he did not open his mouth" (Acts 8:32). When taunted by the soldiers on the cross Jesus withheld his power, "'He saved others', they said, 'but He can't save himself! He's the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him'" (Mat 27:42). Why did Jesus do this? His answer is, "For I have come down from heaven not to do My will but to do the will of Him who sent Me" (John 6:38). But Jesus went on to say, "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day" (John 6:39). Did you catch that? The God of all power withheld his power so that He could take care of each tiny individual in this tremendous space. Our Lord wants us to be with Him on the last day. It's our choice! The creation speaks of God's existence and power as Romans 1:20 tells us. If we reject that knowledge we are "without excuse." What does that mean? If we reject God and His son, our Redeemer, the last day will bring only hell, fire and destruction for an eternity. This is not God's will, but He is a just God and will not change His mind. May we walk in God's will and glorify His Name.
